You will need:
Felt - in whatever fun color's you like
Needle and thread
buttons
pre-lined clippie of your choice
First - cut out some flower petals (at least 5... but you can do more than that - see the picture below) - you want the base to be fairly straight and wide.. the top of the petal can be rounded or pointed... just play with it and have fun.
Next you will do a running stitch through the base of the petals:
Now gently pull to gather the petals:
Then run a stitch back through the first petal to form the flower:
Run a stitch all the way through all of the petals twice more and make sure you pull tight
Lastly, sew a button on the side you like best as the center, tie off, and mount to a clippie (or pin if you wanted to wear it on a shirt... or glue to a picture or card or decoration... really the options are endless!)
I love that when I put them in Lucy's hair it will bend and shape itself to the curve of her head so it doesn't stick out and look like a big goofy something sticking off her head... and I love that Lucy likes them!

Thanks for showing how to make the flowers. It looks easy enough, maybe I'll make some for Aubrey today. Lucy's hair is getting so long!
cute clips Katie. Maybe I'll make some for Easter.
I love these flowers! What a fantastic project for my girls to do themselves, too!

Thanks so much for joining up to our linky party.
On a personal note, didn't we live in the same neighborhood in Taylorsville? If so, I totally remember going over to your house!
