Yes... it is almost a full month after Christmas and I am just now blogging about it... but things have been ultra crazy around here, so this is the first chance I have had to sit down and do it!
Check out that spread we had - Steak and shrimp, sauteed mushrooms, baked yams and potatoes, fresh Brussels sprouts, fresh green beans, fresh corn, home made rolls, butternut squash from mom and dad's garden and some sparkling cider (like the bucket we put them in to keep them cool? that's the only thing we could find! lame people that we are!) Everything was delicious, the company was great, and it was a really nice way to round out the day!
We had such a wonderful time all through Christmas! Jason was able to take about 2 weeks off - and it was truly time off - no teaching and no IR - it was awesome! Lucy and I got totally spoiled having him home that much and have really missed having him around!
Christmas Eve we went out to Mimi's for dinner with Nana and Bompa (my parents), Gramma Lolly and Grampa Toad (Jason's parents) and Uncle Jerry. It was very nice to not have to cook, but my favorite part was being with family! After dinner, Jerry came over to play Rock Band with us for the first time, and we are happy to say that he is also now addicted to it!
Christmas Morning was great - Lucy didn't wake up until like 8 or something like that - yeah for sleeping in! - so we finally got up and dressed and brought Lucy out to see what was there - a nice, cushy, comfy brown rocking chair that is just her size. She was so excited to sit in it and rock!
We then went to Jason's parent's house to wish them Merry Christmas and had breakfast with them, then came back home and spent the rest of the day with my parents. They were able to come over and be there with us for all of our gift opening - it was so fun! I especially liked it that they were able to relax for the day - usually they are the ones that are up having to do everything, but not this year! It was such a nice day - just spending time together!
Lucy was so excited with everything she got - some books, clothes and an adorable little baby doll with a stroller, baby carrier, cradle, diaper bag - the works - it is so funny to watch her with her baby - she rocks her, burps her, kisses her - just like I do with her! Love it!
We had the Sister Missionaries over for dinner - they are so cute! - and Santa had made a little visit here and left them some little bags - they were way cute about it!

The Sisters didn't have to go early since it was Christmas, so they stayed and played some games with Jason while I got Lucy ready for bed - it was fun! Don't you just love the Lucy's hair??
