Lucy and I took my mom to the zoo - this is the only picture I got due to the fact that it was about 1000 degrees out there (really it was 96... but that was plenty hot for us - we much prefer the 40's if the truth be told!) but we had a good time anyway! Lucy touched a chipmunk that was playing on some rocks - it was the strangest thing to see her getting closer and closer and see the little guy not move an inch - it was like it knew that she wasn't out to hurt it! cool stuff! This picture is from the top of the zoo - we have a new sky ride (think a ski lift) that takes you above the zoo and then there is this cool area where the kids can play and you can get drinks and yummy candy before hopping on the ride to go back down. Funny thing happened on the way back down - Lucy was frustrated at having to sit in the seat... and was squirming everywhere - ended up kicking her shoe off - luckily it didn't go in an animal exhibit, and a nice young guy grabbed it for us - tried to throw it up for us to catch it - it didn't even come close - and then ran it down to us in the end - see, there are still nice teenagers in the world today! BUT... what do you think of that view behind my mom? beautiful, right?? You can seriously see the whole city from up there!

Katie are you sure it wasn't closer to 1500 degrees? I had such a good time. Thanks for always sharing your time with me. You are so good to me and I love you so much...mom
