So I got an email from my dear friend, April, today saying that she was worried that the house sucked us up because we have kinda fallen off the blogging and computer world... soooo... I had to update TODAY!! For those of you that want to see some of the things that have been going on, here ya go... for those that don't, do it anyway! Just kidding! I will try to keep things updated now... I've just been putting it off because there is so much to post about!
Anyway... Here is a look at December:
We were supposed to be moved out of the apartment by December 14th - we had talked to them about it on 3 different occasions because I wasn't wanting there to be a problem... were told each time that we had till the 14th, so we were just taking our time working at the house - we had moved all of our furniture over the day before Thanksgiving, but we hadn't packed the little things up - like everything that was on a shelf, or in a cupboard or anything like that... because... well.. we had time! December 1st I went over to pack some things during the day while my Mom had Lucy, and got a call from the office there at the apartments... asking why they didn't have our keys yet... Ummm... right... you all said that we had time... anyway... to make a long story short, we agreed that Jason and I would go over there and work our tails off that night, stay as late as we had to so we could get everything out, if they would give us the money back that we had paid for December (just over $500 - so a small chunk of change!!) and that way they would still be able to get in an get things cleaned and prepped for the people they had scheduled to move in that weekend. We did it... it sucked... but I got home at 2:30am, Jase was home by 4am - had to go to work at 5 (poor guy) but we got the money back and had a HUGE mess to deal with at the new house. It took most of December to get that under control, so you can now understand the lack of posts for the first part of December!
The second half of December was busy with Christmas and Lucy's birthday - so here are some pictures to enjoy from those fun times..
For Christmas, the Ward had an AWESOME activity - I wasn't sure how it was all going to play out, but it worked... it was a Who-bilation - think The Grinch Stole Christmas meets the Nativity story - it was really cool! We had the grinch there, great food, beautiful music - super cute decorations - everyone came dressed like they were actual Who's - the hair of course was my favorite part! I played with Lucy's hair and got it looking cute, I thought - but give me a few years and it would be lookin awesome!! There is a picture of Lucy holding her little friend Morgan - it was so cute! She loves her, and Morgan seems to tolerate Lucy - actually... she likes Lucy pretty well too! I love Morgan's rolls - she is just squishy and fun to play with and hug! Also, look for the pictures of Lucy watching as the Grinch went out in to the crowd to steel the presents and coats and whatever he could get to. She was very concerned that he was being naughty! Funny girl!
Next came Lucy's birthday party - My best friend Jaime and her hubby came over to have dinner with us before hand - Jaime is one of Lucy's favorite people in the whole world, so that was fun for her... then we had many friends over and family too - it is so fun to see all the people that are in our lives and how much we all love them. Thanks to all of you that took the time to come! We love you all and you really helped to Make Lucy's second birthday a great one!
Following Lucy's birthday fun was Christmas - Lucy was too cute that morning! Santa brings stockings to our house and she loved to look in hers to see the fun things that Santa brought! She got her first Cabbage Patch Kid (I can still remember the year they came out... how old does that make me?? My parents went and stood in line at the butt crack of dawn to sait to get ours that year!!) She likes her pretty well! And she also got some socks - they are wicked cute... and some little bits of candy! She was totally content with just that, but then we took her in to the tree to show her that she had some presents out there - she got a tricycle from us, some clothes and stuffed animals, some nature videos from the dogs - totally loved all of it. She was really excited about a t-shirt that she got her daddy - he is wearing it in some of the pics... I seriously tried to put it back, but she insisted... it is Stewie from Family Guy and says "Don't Hate, Cuz you Aint" Right... tacky, but she loved it - and made him put it on as soon as he opened it! She is a cutie pie! The saddest part of the day though was when she was standing on the landing playing with Opie, Atty (my parent's little mini dauchound) was on the stair under her, Lucy went to step back thinking there was still floor there, but instead stepped on Atty who yelped, and the next thing we know, Lucy is flying through the air about 3 feet above the stairs, and landed on the wood floor at the base of the stairs on the corner of her forehead. It was so sad! She cried for about 3 minutes, then stopped and wanted to just be held and read some books, so we thought she was okay. About 20 minutes later though as I was making breakfast and Jason was playing with Lucy, she walked up to him with a very concerned look on her face, and then projectile vomited all over him. YUCK!! I bathed her off, got her feeling a little better, and we just kept an eye on her for a few hours to make sure that was it... and happily it was. It is hard with her because she isn't a whiney girl - never has been. She has burned herself down to the bone and cried for like 30 seconds... so it is hard to tell how bad things really are. I am glad that she isn't always crying though! Anyway... Christmas was awesome! We just stayed at home - just the 3 of us, and had a wonderful time together! Jason wanted Prime Rib for dinner - that's not really my thing though, so he got me some lobster tails - YUM!! Lucy shared that with me... and then had the mashed tators and corn too... but she thought the lobster was pretty good eats!

I'm glad to hear from you too. I'm sorry that you have been so sick, hopefully you are done with being sick for the season. I understand how hard it is to keep up on the posts. I sort of fell off the bandwagon myself for most of December and January. Time went by way too fast. Take care, and Lucy is a doll!!
